”Blowing the Whistle”

I was commissioned by O’Brien Press to create the cover illustration for a new children’s book by Gerard Siggins, centered around rugby.
The brief called for a dynamic, sporty scene featuring four characters actively playing rugby, with energetic composition and hand-drawn lettering for the title. The goal was to capture a sense of action and excitement that would appeal to young readers.

Synopsis:
A new rugby club is just the excitement Kevin and his friends need over the summer holidays. And it’s not long before the Bally K Foxes are up and running. But the abandoned factory casts a shadow over the club. The more everyone warns them to stay away, the more the friends want to solve the mystery … even if it means risking their new club.
